Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: Earth
Event Time: 2023-09-18T12:58Z ( DSCOVR: PLASMAG )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
DSCOVR: PLASMAG
ACE: SWEPAM
ACE: MAG
Activity ID: 2023-09-18T12:58:00-IPS-001 (version 6)
Quality of ICME Signature: 2 (clear signatures)
Note: Sudden sharp jump in all solar wind parameters (speed, density, temperature, magnetic field). Solar wind speed increases from 400 to over 550 km/s and B total reaches 21-22 nT. This signature likely may be associated with the arrival of the CME first seen at 2023-09-16T09:12Z in SOHO LASCO C2, with possible additional coronal hole high speed stream influences (as confirmed by Tarik Salman, LASSOS team) from the coronal hole seen at the central meridian on 09-15. It is possible but less likely that this is a combined arrivals of the above CME and the 2023-09-14T23:12Z CME (which we associated this arrival with on the original notification).
